In regards to facilitated communication:
The APA and the Association of Applied Behavior Analysis have released
position papers on the dangers of using this technique (you can find

I hope we can start a constructive and civil dialogue that benefits
the folks we are trying to serve. I am not known for my tact, thus I
am soliciting assistance from you all to assist in promoting evidence-
based treatment for the children and adults we serve locally, and in a
timely manner while their budding learning repertoires are exploding.
Finally, please implore funding agencies to look for evidence-based
research to support in furthering treatment and services for children
and adults with disabilities.
