Importance: High
Hi Friends……..I thought I would write to you about an important election upcoming in Aspen this May. My neighbor and good friend, Marilyn Marks is running for Mayor. I know that some of you do not live in Aspen “proper” but you can spread the word to your friends, family, and clients that do live and vote in Aspen.
Please read the enclosed which highlights Marilyn’s views on the Local Economy, Affordable Housing, Development and Growth, and Governance. In these important economic times, we need and deserve a strong leader, who does not have a personal agenda, except to bring Aspen back to where it should have been, with a good economy, affordable housing at a reasonable cost, and treating all people fairly and respectfully.
Please feel free to forward this onto your friends, family and clients. Perhaps you would like to post your opinion, or ask Marilyn a question? Maybe even send a check?? See how to do this all below……
With Warm Regards to All……

Subject: Stepping into the Mayor's Race
Friends,
I know that this was a surprise to many of you! Well, me too. After 18 months of being determined not to run, events of the past few days caused me to change my mind, and try to make more of the difference. It is sure to be an interesting and exciting challenge! No doubt I will learn a lot!
However, I think that Aspen is in a unique position to stage an economic recovery faster than any place in the U.S. That can be done with some creativity and a little assistance from the local government. That opportunity is what created my change of heart. I think that I can bring my business experience, optimism, and enthusiasm for that opportunity to make a difference. Without new leadership, I believe that our economic recovery will lag behind the nation. That just should not be allowed to happen.
I have attached the press release.
The two local papers gave nice front page coverage.
