As I'm sure everyone knows, there will be total lunar eclipse in Durango on the above date.  The eclipse takes place from around 4:00AM to 7:00AM, so we need the best view of the western horizon we can get.  Does anyone have any idea where a good place to set up would be?  Please let me know, and thanks.

It's  a lunar eclipse in the wee hours of a Wednesday, probably extremely cold also, but I want to take pictures.  Thanks.

The date on that is January 31, 2018. I think that got lost in the subject line.

There are lots of good spots around Cortez and Farmington with excellent western horizons. Closer to town, you might want to go up on Florida Mesa or another of the high spots towards Ignacio.
