Wow, I just read in the commentaries a lengthy one by a DCR mgt. forester who massively blasts the TSC report.

Quite a crew - they really are quite smug about all this. They rebel at SCS review and file long, ugly, angry appeals. They blast the TSC report as if the TSC is just a bunch of sissy tree huggers though the TSC probably has 150 years of forestry experience.

They are right about everything- everyone else is wrong.

Yet, like almost everyone else in the forestry profession- they go bonkers over the suggestion that private forest owners might lose their property rights if a lic. forester is required to prepare a cut plan- but when it comes to public forests, the public should have no rights- because the state people know best- and, again, this individual blames it all on just a couple of people.

As if the Commissioner and the Stewardship Council would put on this elaborate, expensive, intensive vision process because just a few people complained. To imply that is an extreme insult to them.

The state mgt. foresters need to learn some humility.
