All,

I just confirmed that we will have kids' karate at Wellness Day!! I'm also
close to getting tai chi! And on the medical side, I'm talking to people at
UCSF's dental school to see if they can participate as they did at the
Bayview Opera House during Sunday Streets. They need donated dental
supplies to do it up right, so they may not be as fully featured as they
were last weekend.

We may have more need than we expected for tables and chairs, too, so I'm
going to put the word out to see if we can borrow from the community. I'm
also going to buy a pop-up gazebo myself (it'll come in handy from time to
time...) from the evil Walmart:

Thanks,

Chris

Hello everyone,
Since we're just over a month away from silver terrace park wellness
day 2.0 I thought it would great to have a meeting discussing the
event. I've only gotten emails from Chris so I don't know what the
replies have been but a short pow-wow would be great so we all can get
on the same page.
any thoughts?

All,

Vickie mentioned this to me the other day, and you're both right that we
should get together. It might be a good chance to bring the participating
groups and organizations together BEFORE the event so that they can meet us,
as I know that most of my interaction with them has been solely through
email and phone.

Unfortunately for me, I'm out of town from the 7th through the 18th of July,
and have classes Tuesdays and Thursdays every week, so Wednesdays are
generally best. Would it work to get together Wednesday, June 22, 29, or
July 6 to get re-oriented, and then again on Wednesday, July 20th to work
out any last minute details? Erica, can you please see if PFC has
availability for us to meet on any of these days?

The most important thing I can see needing attention is organizing fliering.
I'm working on getting everything squared away as far as scheduling events
is concerned, and when I do, I'll finalize the fliers and get those
uploaded. That should happen by the middle of next week at the latest.

Oh, good news! It seems that Tai Chi is good to go! Lawrence Kwock from
Chen Style Tai Chi has agreed to do at least one session. He does two-hour
evening classes in the Richmond sponsored by Rec & Park, so he should be
great!

Oh, and an addition to our medical side of things is a friend who works in
translation services at Stanford! She's fluent in Russian, and asked if she
could bring translation services information to the event.

Finally, I have been in touch with SFPD and once we get a flier, she
suggested that I email it to them along with a request for police
participation and she'll bring it to the captain for approval. Sounds easy
enough... We'll see. :D

Thanks,

Chris
