1. Temporary difficulty for Mac users - CMU is still adapting CLAN for Catalina. If you've upgraded (or been inadvertently updated), you may be temporarily be unable to use CLAN. Please stay tuned - we are almost done with making CLAN compatible with Catalina. In the interim, you may have to either downgrade, or switch to PC.
2. Data for instructors of fluency disorders classes: we have gathered interviews from children who stutter. These will be posted to the Teaching tab at FluencyBank very shortly - keep checking in. There will be about a half-dozen, to add to the over 40 adults who stutter. Please remember that all Teaching resources are OPEN ACCESS and do NOT require a password.
3. Researchers: Data from the Illinois Stuttering Research Project are currently posted to FluencyBank. We are working very hard to update these files to the CHAT/CLAN framework, especially for fluency codes. This will take some time, but in the interim, the files can be used for other research purposes.
As always, we welcome donations of new research (or teaching) data!
4. All users: CLAN updates now make creating a new file much easier. You can construct the entire header content of a file from the TIERS tab in CLAN, with no need to type in any headers and save the file first. Simply choose FILE > New and then go directly to Tiers > ID Headers, and start entering data. Select update, and the entire top of the file will be written automatically. Save it, select your media file and you are off and running!
5. All users: as always, we are happy to offer training in the use of CLAN and its fluency-related programs: FluCalc, Eval and KidEval.

For those of you coming to the ASHA convention, we will be offering a one-hour seminar in use of CLAN for clinical and research purposes on Saturday morning. See session 1728. We will have a handout for download shortly.

best regards,
