The following health-related movement workshop is co-sponsored by the Heartland Movement-Based Network and the Flint Hills Resiliency Coalition (as approved by our FHRC members).
It is a UFM community education class listed in the printed catalog and online at www.tryufm.org.  These integrated movement techniques are an effective holistic and sustainable way
to reduce stress, maintain good health and also improve one's health status physically, mentally and emotionally.  See attachment and information below.     Pat Embers, FHRC member

                                                    Movement-Based Empowerment Workshop
                                                  Sat, October 26th, 1:30-5:00

The Movement-Based Empowerment Workshop is still open for enrollment at UFM to learn Brain Gym, Bal-A-Vis-X, Sensory Integration and Rhythmic Movement Training.  We would be happy to have teachers, parents, a few children and other adults wishing to learn brain/body integrated movements for themselves and others at home and at school. Taught by my colleagues and myself, our workshop has been on-going since 2006 in Manhattan, Topeka, Lawrence and Ft. Riley.

See attachment for details, leaders, costs and websites with YouTubes to see these disciplines in action.  This is an introductory workshop that is applicable immediately in classrooms & at home. Calming, focusing, coordination, social & learning skills are beneficial results. Hand-outs are given.  Plus, it's a fun workshop!

Please contact UFM directly as soon as possible to sign up, it is less than 2 weeks away and the deadline is next Friday. This is the first time our workshop has been a UFM course and we no longer handle registration.  Briefly, it is $20/person and $25/adult-with-one-child for an action-packed 3 and a half hour workshop on Saturday, Oct. 26th, 1:30-5:00 PM.  Contact UFM at www.tryufm.org, phone at 785-539-8763, or stop by at 1221 Thurston in Manhattan.

I would be glad to answer any further questions or help anyone with registration.  Contact me at emb...@cox.net or phone 785-539-2819.  Pass it on. Thanks.
