Hi everyone –

Sam Mackey will be back this week to teach the Couples Cha-cha class (!) -- same time and place (Thursday, 7:15, Arizona Roadhouse). No more Line Dance classes until next year...

Here is a review of what Sam taught last week (as best as I can put it into words....):

** Forward Breaks (Sam's "Shoulder to shoulder"): After turn for woman, connect with both hands, palm-to-palm, at chest level. At R side of slot (from man's perspective), man does break step diagonally forward outside of woman, to R (woman steps diagonal back). Cha-cha-cha facing each other, then man does break step diagonally forward outside of woman to L (woman, diagonal back). Repeat, exit with outside turn for woman.

** Inside Breaks: Underarm turn for woman, connect with both hands at waist level, cha-cha-cha to R, turn in to the slot on the break step (to L 1/4 for man, R 1/4 for woman). Back to facing for cha-cha-cha to the L, turn in at L side of slot (to R for man, L for woman). Repeat, exit with outside turn...

** Chasses (there should be an accent mark above the 'e'...): After outside turn, palm-to-palm (man's R hand, woman's L) -- cha-cha-cha to man's R, facing each other, open to R (to L for woman), cha-cha-cha both facing forward, along slot, turn in to facing again, palm to palm (R to L), cha-cha-cha to R. Finish with outside break (open to R for man, to L for woman), then basic cha-cha-cha to L with L to R lead, and outside turn for woman (whew!). NOTE: The chasses are all in a line, in the same direction (to man's R, from the original starting / facing position).

Note that Gary is finishing his December Cha-cha class at The Peaks tonight -- but we will still get together on Thursday of next week.

Couples Dance classes are 7:15 – 8:15 pm on Thursday evening at the Arizona Roadhouse, 2136 N Fourth Street, in Flagstaff. Membership is $25 for the year for the Couples classes, and with membership, the weekly classes are free; for non-members, classes are $3. **First time for either class is free** There are also Line Dance classes on Tuesday (Intermediate, at Southside Tavern, S.
