Members of the Wappingers Central School District community will cast their vote on three important items on Tuesday, May 21st.  In addition to the budget vote and the bus proposition, the District is presenting a Proposition to undertake critical Capital Improvements that, if approved, will repair aging infrastructure, improve security and enhance energy efficiency, and save the District millions of dollars in rental costs, fuel costs, and other contract fees.

“This is a unique, time-sensitive opportunity for taxpayers to maintain district properties, eliminate rental costs, improve efficiency AND save money due to the combination of historic low bond rates and state building aid,” said Ron Broas, Director of Facilities and Operations for the District.

Residents can review all of the components of the Capital Project Proposal by visiting the District’s Capital Improvement Project website.

In addition the District Superintendent will be reaching out to the community to discuss this project as well as the 2013-14 budget.  There are 3 meetings left where the public can attend.  Each meeting is scheduled to begin at 7pm.  Here are the remaining dates / locations:

  1. Wednesday, May 8th at Evans Elementary
  2. Tuesday, May 14th at Vassar Road Elementary
  3. Wednesday, May 15th at Myers Corners Elementary
Residents will have the opportunity to vote on the bond issues and the District budget on Tuesday, May 21st.  Residents may check the District's budget website to find their polling location and to review all of the 2013-14 budget information.

Please remember to vote on May 21st.

Thank you.
