Ministerial Search News - February 5, 2013

The MSC has completed hosting our three pre-candidate weekends. Now, the difficult work begins. We have many meetings scheduled over the next 6 weeks to weigh each candidate’s skills against all the information gathered from and about our congregation. We will be revisiting their ministerial packets, calling more references, and listening to more sermons. Please remember that each of these ministers is also a pre-candidate at other UU congregations. So the MSC’s hope is to agree that more than one of these three pre-candidates will make an excellent Senior Minister, in case our top candidate chooses another church.

Assuming our choice decides to come to First Parish in Concord, you will get to know that candidate during Candidating Week (April 28- May 5, 2013) and and hear him or her preach two Sundays. The full congregational vote to Call takes place Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 12:30 PM. According to our bylaws, only members who have signed the book by April 5, 2013 may participate. If the full congregation does NOT decide to call our candidate by a better than 90% vote, then the Standing Committee will hire a new Interim Senior Minister for one-year and the congregation will elect a new search committee to launch a new search during the 2013-14 church year.
