I apologize if you are receiving this again. I received a message that my first attempt to send did not go through.
It is with great pleasure that the Ministerial Search Committee announces the name of our candidate for the position of Senior Minister of First Parish in Concord: Reverend Howard N. Dana, currently Senior Minister at the Harrisburg PA UU church.
Our introduction to Howard is excerpted from his ministerial record: "If you are seeking a minister who will love your congregation, inspire it to greater service, and insure that it thrives into the future, you will want to meet me. My calling is to serve Unitarian Universalism through my dedication to congregational life. You will find in me a minister who knows how to rejoice at good fortune, comfort during sorrow, and live fully. My hands know the weight of a hymnal. I have had the match go out when lighting the chalice. Small children have stumped me and inspired me with their questions. Shared cookies have revived me in long committee meetings. My shoulder has been wet with tears, many of which I shared. I know what it is to haul chairs, heat up soup, shovel sidewalks, sit in a hospital room, balance a plate of food on my knees at a potluck, and lift my voice in song. I know church. It is where I belong."
To get you started becoming more familiar with him we offer:
Over the next several weeks, the MSC will send out much more information about Howard. Of course, your best opportunity to get to know him will be during Candidating Week (April 28 – May 5) when he preaches on both Sundays and tries to meet as many parishioners as possible. We are working now on a schedule for the week’s activities which will be published well in advance. Candidating Week culminates in an all parish vote to call on May 5, 2013 at 12:30 PM in the Sanctuary.
REMEMBER: You MUST become a member by April 5th in order to participate in this historic vote!
