November is the month ministers in search spend reviewing Congregational Records and deciding which churches interest them. Ministers who are interested in us will notify the UUA’s Transitions Office. We expect to receive a list of interested ministers from the UUA on November 30th.  Until then, we are preparing interview questions,  practicing our interviewing techniques on Elaine, and testing and proofreading our Packet Web site.

For those interested in the title of Senior Minister, here are two job descriptions, taken from the UUA Web site:
Minister: Performs the expected duties of ministry. Often supervises other staff. May function as lead or executive for administrative purposes. Confers with the governing board, committees and volunteers. Represents the congregation to the community.
Senior Minister: Performs all of the tasks of a minister, plus performs a lead role for other ordained ministers. For compensation purposes, the title senior is not merely honorific but indicates supervisory responsibilities for other clergy and staff.

If you’re interested in our “competition” this year, check out the list of UU congregations in search, including 23 churches in Massachusetts at
