Happy Holidays! The Ministerial Search Committee is pleased to let you know that we have completed our initial Skype interviews and have now narrowed our choices to three amazing pre-candidates. We are now making arrangements for each to spend a weekend with us this winter and preach at a neutral pulpit. We are very excited about our choices! Each of them would make an exceptional Senior Minister.
Now Consider This! (adapted from the BCT Workshop): UUA Case Study #9 (a true UU story)
A newly settled minister begins working at his congregation. Upon learning the new minister has a learning disability, someone in the congregation asks a member of the search committee if the new minister is smart enough and wonders if his sermons will have sufficient intellectual content, especially since the first few sermons were more personal? Is this a problem? Whose? How should it be dealt with?
