Volunteer for the 4th Annual Ride for Food on Sunday, September 20th
Open Table, one of the partner programs of First Parish in Concord, has asked for our volunteer support in the 4th Annual Ride for Food. The Ride for Food is run by Three Squares New England (“TSNE”), which raises money and awareness for organizations that actively provide the good, nourishing food to communities in the metro-Boston area. Open Table is one of TSNE’s partner organizations participating in this Ride.
TSNE organized its first Ride for Food in 2012 and raised approximately $35,000 for the Dedham Food Pantry. The 2nd annual Ride raised over $123,000 to support hunger initiatives throughout the metro-Boston area. The 2014 Ride for Food continued the growing success, and raised $210,000 for 11 area organizations committed to battling hunger locally. On average, TSNE returned 116% of every partner dollar raised.
The next Ride for Food is on Sunday, September 20, 2015. As in the past, there will be three great, well-staffed rides to choose from, a 10, 25, or 50 mile route. Find more information about participating in the Ride with other Open Table volunteers, go here.

Peace Walk Coming Through Concord on Wednesday, August 5th
The New England Peace Pagoda’s Annual Hiroshima-Nagasaki walk will come through Concord and the surrounding area on Wednesday, August 5th. Concord walkers should meet at 9 AM on August 5th in the parking lot for the Old North Bridge on Monument Street. There will be a short ceremony and meeting to learn about the meaning of the walk. At or before 9:30, participants will walk (or drive) to Walden Pond where there will be another short gathering at 10:30. This gathering will consider Thoreau’s relationship to the walk. Interested participants may then continue on to Cambridge. For more information, contact Tim Bullock: walk4ne...@gmail.com or see the flyer below.
