Dear Parent,
The summer is upon us, but that doesn't mean we can't get together. I know kids are so busy, but who can resist a quiet walk in the woods?
Please join Concord Naturalist Peter Alden and me on a wild life walk to see an amazing sight: a nesting colony of Blue Herons. We would like to go while their babies are still small, so kids can see the feeding. Peter will bring his telescope. If you have binoculars, it would be great if your child could bring them along.
We can accommodate about 10 kids. We will leave from First Parish at 3:30 on Thursday, June 26th. We will return to First Parish around 4:45 and have a small snack in the herb garden. Pick up can be 'around' 5:15 or 5:30. Children attending need to be big enough to be able to ride in a regular car seat with a seat belt. If the weather is questionable, I will send out an email by noon on Thursday if we need to cancel.
Please RSVP so I know whether there is interest in this special walk. We will be charging a $10 fee for Peter's time and talent. If many kids want to participate, I will offer another date as well.
Looking forward to it!
Pam
