Peggy Casteel, Associate Pastor, is the preacher at First Presbyterian
Church on October 30. She will be preaching on the Reformation. The
Youth Choir will provide worship leadership. Church school classes are
available for all age groups of infants through teens, during and
following worship, which begins at 9:30 a.m. At 11:00 am we will
feature two Adult Nurture classes which are; “Saving Jesus” and
“Planning for the Rest of Your Life and Beyond.” “Saving Jesus” is
produced by the makers of the popular “Living the Questions” course.
This week’s “Planning for the Rest of Your Life and Beyond” class
features Warren Ward, Certified Financial Planner, and Lori Rowan,
Insurance Specialist. They will discuss Estate planning, life
insurance, long term care and monetary issues. At 3:00 pm, Dominic
Spera will be presenting “Jazz Rhythms and Riffs with Dominic Spera &
Friends.” Dominic is a nationally known Jazz Artist who has appeared
on Broadway and played trumpet with Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Henry
Mancini and more. Butter Braids will be on sale in the Gym from
10:30am – 11:30am. The church address is 512 7th Street. All are
welcome.

THE ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING (part one) will be held at the
conclusion of worship today, October 30. The purposes of the meeting
are 1) Act upon Elders, Deacons, and the 2012 Nominating Committee,
and 2) to engage in the Annual Meeting of our Foundation. Activities
that usually commence at 11:00 a.m. may be slightly delayed. An
additional congregational meeting will be called some weeks later to
receive the 2012 budget from the Session and to vote on the terms of
call for pastors.

PUMPKIN CARVING EVENT SPONSORED BY YOUTH GROUP.  Beginning at 4:00
p.m. today, October 30, any and every family of any type, age or size
is invited to bring pumpkin(s) to the church along with canned goods
to donate to the Lincoln Neighborhood Center for Thanksgiving
baskets.  The youth will have carving tables set up to help you carve
and paint your pumpkin all ready for Halloween, including the tea
light.  The youth will also be selling baked goods to raise money for
2012 youth mission trips.  Please come anytime between 4:00 p.m. –
6:00 p.m.  Thank you for your support of our youth!

ALL SAINTS’ SUNDAY—On November 6, 2011, we will observe All Saints’
Sunday. As we did last year, we will have a special banner prepared
to remember our members and friends. The Adult Choir will also be
singing during this service.
