CONCERT: Saturday, November 5th at 7:30 pm. Join us in the sanctuary
for a concert of organ, piano, and oboe music. Dr. David Lamb,
organist, is Director of Music at First United Methodist Church since
1996 and is also an adjunct instructor of Music at IUPUC. He has
played in 27 states, as well as abroad. David also has several
recordings to his credit and will play at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in
New York City in 2012. Dr. Lamb will play “Carillon de Westminster” by
Louis Vierne, Variations on “All Creatures of our God and King” by
Denis Bedard, and “Final from First Sonata” by Alexandre Guilmant,
among others.
Sarah Hager, oboist, is pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree in oboe
performance and Arts Administration at the Jacobs School of Music at
Indiana University. She has performed with the New World Youth
Symphony Orchestra, the Indiana Bandmasters Association All State
Band, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra side by side programs, Indiana
University Symphony Orchestra, and the I.U. Wind Ensemble. She will
present music by noted American composers, Howard Hanson and Alec
Wilder, in addition to Danish composer, Carl Nielsen. Please mark
your calendar for this event.

Sunday, November 6 is All Saint's Day and Communion Sunday at First
Presbyterian Church. Rev. Rob Craig will help us remember those who
have passed on before us. The Adult Choir will sing. Church school
classes are available for all age groups of infants through teens,
during and following worship, which begins at 9:30 a.m. At 11:00 am
we will feature two Adult Nurture classes which are; “Saving Jesus”
and “Planning for the Rest of Your Life and Beyond.” “Saving Jesus”
is produced by the makers of the popular “Living the Questions”
course. This week’s “Planning for the Rest of Your Life and Beyond”
class will wrap up with a panel of facilitators, Zack Ellison-
moderator including a Q&A with a panel of experts, and a review
session. The church address is 512 7th Street. All are welcome.

DEACON AND SESSON LUNCH/DISCUSSION SUNDAY: A lunch will be held for
Deacons,  Session members and their families, following Adult Nurture
today. There will be fellowship, food, and planning for Consecration
Sunday that is taking place November 13th (next week). Deacons and
Session members, are invited and encouraged to attend in order to
help with the final planning for this important event.

GATHERING OF THE NORTH CENTRAL REGION of Presbyterian Churches will
take place Thursday, November 10th from 10:00 a.m. –1:00 p.m. at First
Presbyterian in Martinsville. The program will include a tour of the
Good Shepherd Clinic, introduction of churches to the NC Region
announcements about upcoming events shared officer training), and a
spring planning session for the future. See Pastor Peggy for more

THE “GETTING TO KNOW YOU” LUNCHEON will be Wednesday, November 9, at
11:30 at Bistro 310. All women of our church are invited to come for
casual conversation, good food, and especially to get to know one
other. Cost is $11 which includes drink, tip and tax. Please see

EACH SUNDAY afternoon from about 1:30-3:00pm, landscape careteam
members and any other volunteers can meet at church to rake leaves and
gumballs.  Please join us if possible.  Please see Sharon Larson with
any questions.  We will meet TODAY,  Nov 6th.

The Bloomington Us Too Prostate Cancer Support Group is sponsoring an
educational evening for persons suffering from erectile dysfunction or
urinary incontinence. The speaker is Dr Stephen Beck, IU Health
Urology. It will be November 9th @ 7pm at First Christian Church, 205
Kirkwood Ave. Partners and spouses are welcome. Space is limited so
