Hi kids,

So it looks like I have hit a snag with my new NASA-approved super
computer. I bought a system specifically for photo editing, possibly
video editing and occasional gaming. They always say buy the most
complete and powerful system you can when you buy because they get old
quick. Keeping in line with that thinking, I chose Vista 64 so I
could maximize my RAM (8GB). There in lies the problem...

It seems that Canon codecs do not support 64-bit and apparently they
don't have any plans to support it. What that means ultimately is
that the system is not reading the EXIF data. I can edit/add/modify
the meta data (Who/What/Where/etc.).

Any one aware of a work around, fix, prayer or magic spell that will
overcome this problem?

Solution:

Downloaded a CR codec from Ardfry that thus far appears to be working
on my system. Sweeeeet
