Saving open tabs offline such that they do not reload on browser restart

currently I am using Tab Mix Plus. before that I was using the default
session manager.
both were configured such that when firefox closes the tabs get saved,
and reloaded next time the browser starts up.
my issue is this, I would rather have it that firefox loads a saved
cache paged instead of reloading the tabs.
I could have as much as 25 tabs open. and if I load up my firefox with
no internet connection I get about 25 pages of 'unable to load the
page', when it would be much more useful to have the content that was
there.
is there such a plugin? or maybe I am missing some hidden preference
somewhere?
