FireBirds Picnic

Dear FireBirds:

The Summer heat heading out and the next season is lurking around the corner. 

It will be a great time to re-start thinking about the picnic we postponed due to logistic issues. The most important part is to come up with a date and then the venue. Once we do that it will be simple figuring out other logistics. So, let's start an opinion poll about the Date and the Venue:

Dates: 

I am thinking Saturdays are better because people will get a chance to recover for the work unlike Sunday. 

9/22, 9/23, 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/10, 11/17

Please voice you opinions on the dates. 

Venue: 

We will see if we can keep this exiting and venture out. I will throw in few choices and you can add on. May be we will just straw pull the top 3 choices. 

Sedona

Canyon Lake (Already went 3 times)

Lake Roosevelt

Pinetop

Prescott

Remaining logistics I will communicate once we decide on the Date & Venue. I am hoping we will cook at the site like before and have a robust menu. We will also plan some activities for kids and families.

Good Morning! 

Dates I’m Okay with: 

Any days as long as it falls on 9/29 (assuming you meant 9/29 not 9/23), 10/13, 10/27, 11/10.

Thoughts on venue: 

Sedona, Pinetop, Prescott - If its not two days trip then it will to rushed, specially with driving back-and-forth with Family then cooking/cleaning at the spot.

Lake Roosevelt: Almost like Canyon Lake, but off course a better version. 

Final thoughts: I’m ok with the majority votes and final decision that everyone come up with.

Clarification in light of Raj's comment:

The picnic will be a day trip: Sedona is little over 2 hours. Canyon Lake was 45-min- 1.5.  Roosevelt Lake is will be 1.5-2 hours.  (Depending on where you are in the metro)

My thought was to follow the same process that we did in our previous picnics for Setup, Cooking & Closeout. 

The trip will take 1 or 1.5  hours of extra time in the morning -> 

we will still stay there until sunset -> we will reach home  1 or 1.5 hours late -> 

That is why Saturday is picked so that people can rest on Sunday for work the following day.
