Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced
librarians to work as part of the College Liaison/Information Services
team, providing liaison and information services to academic staff and
students at Massey University's Wellington campus. This position covers
the academic year (40 weeks) between February and November each year.
You will facilitate the provision of information services from the
Information Desk, provide instruction and consultancy services to staff
and students, and will liaise with academic staff (esp. College of
Sciences) to ensure that services and collections meet their needs and
those of their students. You will also select both print and electronic
items for the collections, which support the teaching, learning and
research of the University.
We are interested in a skilled librarian with
* A degree and professional library qualification
* Library experience
* A commitment to excellence in customer service
* A demonstrable interest in and/or knowledge of science
* Well developed communication and presentation skills
* An understanding of the principles and processes of collection
development
* Familiarity with information technology
* Ability to work under pressure in a busy team environment
* The confidence and ability to work with academic staff
* Initiative, motivation, flexibility and collegiality
* An understanding of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi
