Ahwazi, Baluch, and Kurds also deserve self-determination

Although there has been loud condemnation of Israel's separation wall, there have been no media headlines about the segregation walls hiding squalid Ahwazi Arab ghettos from wealthier Persian settlements and glossy new towns. The Baluch people in Iran, like the Ahwazi, are Sunni Muslim, and are also severely persecuted. The Kurds in Iran are actually indigenous to the region they live in (northwestern Iran). Like the Ahwazi and Baluch, the majority of the Iranian Kurds are Sunnis, and have been persecuted and discriminated by the Iranian regime, even a veritable genocidal campaign has been waged against them. Ahwazi, Baluch, and Kurdish aspirations have never received the attention the Palestinians have received, yet these people have struggled for freedom and self-determination for a century. Western Armenia out of 2017 ConIFA World Cup because of lack of guarantees from (pro-)Turkish side

It has been dubbed the football world cup of unrecognised states, but the politics of a recognised state will nonetheless prevent the Western Armenia team from participating in the 2017 ConIFA World Cup. Apparently the pro-Turkish Northern Cyprus team does not feel that ensuring the safety of Western Armenia players is their responsibility, and part of the fair play which should be associated with being a member of such an egalitarian football federation such as ConIFA.
