I would simply like to say thank you to each of you for your service to our
community and for your energy to promote Supply Our Schools.
I am pleased that the committee decided to extend the drive through August
20 and I look forward to learning of this trial campaign's results.
Also, for anyone who may not have had occasion to visit Town Hall recently,
there is a great display in the rotunda area that commemorates the Town's
30-year history. The pictures alone are terrific.
Thanks again and see you in September at Farragut Middle School.

1. Roll call (Deakins) 2 PM
2. Approval of June 2, 2020 meeting minutes. Correction by Littlejohn:
. Jerry Martin is the President of the Farragut High School Foundation
. Russell Oakes is Chief of Staff of the Knox County Schools
3. Introduction of new committee member, Russell Barber, a retired
engineer who lives in the Farragut community. Also serves on Farragut
Parks and Leisure Community Committee.
4. Overview of committee activity for the 2009-2010 term will be
postponed until September 1, 2010 meeting.
5. Officer elections will be postponed until September 1, 2010
meeting.
6. Discussion of Sunshine Law presented by David Smoak who distributed
Open Meetings in Tennesse: Compliance with the Public Meetings Laws by
Melissa Asburn (Knoxville: U of TN, 2009). In particular, no chance
meetings, informal assemblies, or electronic communication shall be
used to decide on committee business (2). Members may informally meet
as a group to distribute flyers or help on other projects, but no
committee member can discuss future policy decsions.
7. Discussion of county-wide volunteer program and software
procurement status. Currently VounteerMatch is still working on the
software that will include all Knox County Schools with future plans
to expand. Russ Oakes (Chielf of Staff of Knox County Schools) and
Jennifer Evans (Workforce Development Director of Knoxville Chamber
Partnership) are combining forces to sponsor this project. Committee
agreed to keep updated on the progress of this program.
8. Review of Supply Our Schools (SOS) project.
. Lyle suggested that flyers be printed by the Town Hall to be
distributed. Millsapps agreed to provide 300 flyers, available for
pickup at the Town Hall. Lyle, Littlejohn, and Barber will distribute
these flyers to businesses, libraries, and churches in the Farragut
area.
. Peterson stated that the ad will run in next week's Farragut Press.
. SOS project has been extended to August 20, 2010.
9. Discussion of items not on agenda:
. Lyle stated that the Red, White, Blues Festival in Farragut on July
4th was successful. All donations and monies go to the Farragut
schools, although there were overhead costs. The overall amount of
donations has not been determined at this time.
. Smoak related new changes to the Charter. Alderman Williams is not
able to attend; therefore, the Charter will eliminate the Alderman
request. Instead, either Smoak or Palmer will attend the SERC
meetings.
. Smoak also stated that the Charter will request that committee
members miss no more than two meetings in the fiscal year. After two
missed meetings, the member must re-apply to the Board.
. Smoak discussed the needed trafffic light for the high school at
Campbell Station Road. The road construction is expected to be
completed on December 1, 2010. After completion, the traffic light
problem will be studied.
. Deakins requested that the day of the committee meetings be changed
