Classics in RPG

[Abrigon]

Anyone taken an old classic piece of literature and used it as a seed
for a larger RPG world?

King Arthur - Done a few times, directly and indirectly.
Moby Dick - Direct and sort of like done.
Hornblower and like, or John Paul Jones (real person) or Kidnapped or
Treasure Island (Pirates of?).

What else?
