Pre-Bloodhawk there was the Grecco-Roman Empire, which ended
abruptly when the equivalent to the Italian Peninsula 'sunk
underwater.' The City of Rome was shifted to about a mile upriver from
the new north coast of the reminants left unsunk to the north. As this
happened, Maximus the Great took control of every prefect's land
within three months, except for AEgypt... The reminants left to Rome,
as it soon became clear that other chunks from other cities were
'rescued from the waves' and placed around Old Rome to form a greater
city, Nova Roma. As the Uncontested Land, plus Venencia's Princedom,
had to support feeding Nova Roma, a new wheat with thirty-five times
the grain of 'old wheat' saved Nova Roma from starving, along with
other plants growing ten times (or Twenty times in the case of
Tomatoes, Olives, and Grapes,) the old turnout. That took time to
reestablish Nova Roma under Rome.
By the time the Old Emperor stablized Nova Roma, Maxius the Great
was Emperor of the Empire, having a magic passage from each Prefect to
Bloodhawk, where He controled when said passages were open. The
location of Bloodhawk on the North Iberian Coast was not a problem.
Normal Trade continued as undesterbed, as well as the rest...
Nova Roma became indepenent of the Bloodhawk Empire as a City-
State, with Venecia's trade connections and naval compasity helping
out a lot. When the Emperor's Son took Venencia's Daughter of the
Prince as a wife, that established that Nova Roma plus Venencia stood
together.
At the Last Emperor's burial, Nova Roma became a kingdom by facing
the new realities of what little The King of Nova Roma had left, as
the Emperor's Son, Married to the Venecian Princess, became King &
Queen.
The south tip of the Roman Peninula, with a relocated Naples on
basically a stretched eliptical island, was the only other part of Old
Rome above the waves, became Naples and not a second Island of Sicily.
This was the last part of the Old Empire to recognize Maximus the
Great as Emperor by right.
AEgypt also became Independent of the new Bloodhawk Empire, as the
Dynasty from Cleopatra reaserted its 'rightful' Pharoh Rulership (and
Maximus the Great didn't come with an army to contest this,) over the
land. However, Bloodhawk did establish how Trade Relations between
AEgypt and The Empire was going to be...
