The other question I’d ask in this situation is “what does that mean about the rest of the universe? What are the implications? What can I extrapolate about this?”

 

If the sun is being drawn through the sky like a chariot, what we can presume are the stars? Are they anything like the sun? If not, why not? What about the moon(s)? other ‘planets’ (in the astrological sense)?  

 

I guess I approach fantasy with a (semi)scientific viewpoint.

When I am creating a new fantasy world, I like to ask myself, "What if the sun really is a chariot being pulled by horses through the sky?  What if that WAS your job?  What would be the mentality of that deity/servant?"

 

It is a fantasy universe, so why not go all out?  :)
