Encounter Matrix

When the GM/DM is stumpted or just not prepared.

An encounter matrix would come in handy?

Example:

Walk into a bar:

What do you see?
Encounter?

Make it as simple as possible.

Like an old if true go to next step down. If no true go to the left and that jump path.

Cross road:
You encounter
Road left and right.
And event, a group, or a negative encounter.

1- corpse hanging. Nothing or it says something?
2-you see a party/person. No offensive.
3-you see a party/person who attacks?

Yes?
