I believe our sites are breaking new ground here. Welcome again to all
those who visit, whether you join and post, or just read.

Also a special welcome now to Howard's UCB students.

Take a look now at BYH

I understand what you are saying. "Social Capital" is how the BSers
justify their pecking order and hostile environment. You see it when
one of the biggest bullies, M. S. is always sucking up to Howard.

But "Social Capital" is not a term I've ever heard used in BS.

Did you see it posted? Did you discuss it with people?

OK, lots of past history here, but basicly I was told by Teri Myers or
Mike Sellers that I was going to lose or have no social capital because
I have avatarot on the net. I had been a member all of five months and
was probably pretty low ranking anyway as these things go. I figured I
had close to nothing to lose so I thought the threat was just ugliness
as in: "you'll never amount to anything."

My response was that I did not care about social capital and they could
take their social capital where the sun doesn't shine since I
considered the threat idle and bogus at the same time.

I guess I am sensitive to having my honor impugned. I think both of us
met with horrible disrespect inside Brainstorms' sacred precincts.

Its the same Mike S. who was all over me when I first entered BS.

This went on for about 300 posts.

I never heard "social capitol" before. But it was community norms,
can't do that in Brainstorms, we raise the bar, etc etc. This went on
for 300 posts.

Finally I posted one of his flaming attacks in my profile. Then he
really went balistic. He was using bold face and over sized HTML type.
He even threatened to sue me.

Howard's ideology supports this. I knew then that I had to have the
outside sites.

Grace locked me out, though only for a couple of hours. That changed my
relationship with the whole thing right then.

Maybe its the Jewish New Year, but I believe our threads are finally
breaking through.
