There hasn't been a post since 4:09 pm and it says I don't have
permission to post. Has somebody complained to Google about the
group's content in order to close it down?

We were marked as a Spam Group for some reason without any explanation from Google.

I, personally suspect someone reported us as a Spam Group (there's a link on the Home Page where you can report a group to Google Abuse).

Everything probably happened automatically from that point.

Google really should have a system where someone actually checks the Group before shutting it down.

There are just way too many malicious people out there who pull stunts like this.

It can take as long as a week to get re-activated so we were very lucky to have been re-activated so quickly.

I posted the problem in a group which shall remain unnamed and a guy
named denmark replied saying that he cleared the group.

I've posted in that group again that it closed again at 8:20 this
morning.

I'm a Top Contributor in a couple of help groups and belong to some TC
groups, one of which is a group for TCs and employees from all the
Google services. I see that Denmark is the employee in charge of the
Google Groups service. Hopefully he'll see my post in the umbrella
group, which shall remain nameless, and unlock the group again soon.

Here's a post I made in the Google Groups group that explains why the
group was shut down:

The problem is that some groups are started and are abandoned because
of lack of interest. These abandoned groups become a hotbed for spam
that is not moderated because the owners no longer bother moderating
the posts. The spam links will get crawled and ranked by the search
bots if the posts are not removed or the group deleted. But have no
fear, the group should be back in business shortly.

Thanks Huck. Anything you can do to facilitate this will be greatly appreciated by All!

Thanks Huck!!!

Maybe you could suggest that they have a method of verifying a Spam complaint before shutting down the group. :-)

Anyway, really appreciate this!

I've been suggesting that they not dump Pages in favor of Sites. I've
complained about deleting help group archives as groups are moved to
the new forum format. I've learned that the squeaky wheel doesn't get
the grease. I'm pretty much marginalized as a helper these days. But
I'm confident that the group will be unlocked soon.

That's okay. What you're doing for us is great.

We think we got tagged because of the occasional Spam in Files and Pages.

Which is kind of ridiculous because we clean that out daily sometimes several times a day.

I know because I'm the one that does the bulk of it.

Nothing stays there for more than a couple of hours and usually gets canned pretty quickly.

Maybe it's that combined with malicious complaints?

At any rate, Pages and Files will be staying under Management Control for a while just to see what happens.

The occasional spam won't get you tagged. It takes a report to get it
tagged. Somebody reporting that a group is being used to post spam.
There's nothing to stop a spammer from creating a group just for the
sole purpose of`posting links. It's a big problem for Google because
they certainly don't want to get a reputation for censoring content
willy nilly. They are in the business of Page ranking search results
and their reputation for honesty is primary for the rates they charge
to advertisers. I thought for sure the group would be unlocked by now.

If you check out thetard's post on the Mod Board my guess is that they are complaining continuously.

Now the liars are accusing me of trying to sabotage their board.

This is a typical strategy of sickos like this.

First they sabotage you, then they accuse you of sabotaging them.

Unbelievable!

And all this because XNun is so pathetic she can't get her own group going.

No we're okay here.

We're just a smaller group so the posting isn't as heavy as it is at AvC.

I've just reposted about it in the umbrella group again, bumped the
