FPC has a veritable plethora of events this weekend, starting tonight with Friday Friends for the kids and ending with a musical autumn equinox vesper service featuring bass clarinets! Several events welcome the autumnal equinox, which takes place Sunday morning at 8:43 am EST.
Here's what's coming up:
Friday, Sept. 20:
6:30 to 8:30 pm
Friday Friends (formerly Club UU) is a nonreligious night of crafts, snacks and fun children in grades K to 5. Kids should be dropped off in the vestry. All are welcome!
Saturday, Sept. 21:
8:30 to 1 pm
FPC's annual community yard sale
10 am to 1 pm (or until pies are sold out)
The first day of FPC's annual apple pie sale (What could be more autumnal than that?)
Sunday, Sept. 22
10 am
Our Sunday service focuses on autumn poetry.
5 pm
"Change is Coming: An Equinox Celebration" is a service of peace with readings and music featuring the bass clarinet ensemble Improbable Beasts. It takes place in the sanctuary.
All are welcome to all of these events, which are free and open to the public (although, of course, the pies and yard sale items are for sale).
Happy Autumn Equinox!
