Watch parties will be hosted across the country tonight to tune into a livestream from the Sunrise Movement, a youth-led climate activism group. The livestream will detail Sunrise's 2019 Green New Deal strategy. A watch party will be held at First Parish Church of Stow & Acton, 353 Great Rd., Stow, from 7 to 9:15 p.m. The livestream itself begins at 8 p.m. Other nearby locations for watch parties include private homes in Concord and Wayland. Sunrise's goal is to make the Green New Deal a central campaign issue in the 2020 presidential election cycle. Sunrise says the livestream will include special guests and immediate ways for viewers to start taking action in their communities.
