These Georgia folks are FABULOUS!
Whistling Rufus is a really fine old-time string band, and Doug has a great selection of dances and is very clear when teaching the dances. Beginners at 7pm, dancing from 7:30-10:30pm.
More info can be found at our website: www.FOOTMADbirmingham.org
We still need TWO VOLUNTEERS to sit at the admissions table for the first part of the evening and get FREE ADMISSION FOR THIS KIND GESTURE...
PLEASE SIGN UP HERE:
SUNDAY:
We want all of you to join us at the Magic City Art Connection where we will be dancing to the music of the Sparklers and calling by Naomi Anderegg in Linn Park at 2pm. We want to show people how much fun contra dancing is, and we need at least 20 of you wonderful folks to do that. The more the merrier. You'll need to be at the Back Yard Production Stage by 1:45pm. It is located in the area of Linn Park across the street from the Birmingham Museum of Art. If you want FREE admission to the festival for that day, go to the volunteer table earlier that day and ask for a wristband for the FOOTMAD group. The volunteer table is located on Park Place between the old library and the Tutwiler Hotel. If you don't get a wristband, admission to this incredible art show is $10 for a three day pass. I cannot see on their website how much admission is for just SUNDAY, although just FRIDAY is $5. sorry for the confusion.
Thanks for reading this email. HOPE TO SEE YOU AT ALL THREE OF THESE DANCES, or at least ONE...
