Having two kids is an amazing feeling, having one of each gender is an extra blessing. Right now they are both down for their naps and this is a rare quiet moment so I'll make it brief coz I haven't had my breakfast yet and it's nearly lunch time. :)

The toughest part about having two young kids is when they're both crying at the same time or when one needs your full attention and the other is screaming away. You feel like you're torn into two (or more if you have more kids crying) and just emotionally strained. The guilt of not being able to attend to the crying child is heavy and having to rush with the other one is also tough.  The best part is when one is asleep so you can attend to the other fully but then you'll be physically and emotionally exhausted too coz there's no time for yourself. Oh, and I forgot to mention that the house also needs your attention - there's laundry to be washed, folded and ironed, carpets that needed vacuumed, dishes to be cleaned, and being human, we're always hungry. Sometimes I don't even have time to go restroom which yesterday made for some painful constipation.

So, am I scaring you into having more than one kid now? :) Don't fear, this is the good part :  when they are smiling at you or laughing, I won't say the cliche that you'll forget being tired coz the tiredness is still there but your soul is lifted a little bit. And you can always have a hug to lift you up another notch. And the relief that I feel when I stop the other from crying (esp the newborn) is huge.  We love watching them both grow and be their individual selves.  Their excitement and enthusiasm about the world it keeps our cynicism at bay. And when they're sleeping in your arms, you feel peace and so much love.

Till then,
