BTW, I just joined the California Homeschool Association. The education level here has really gone downhill thanks to budget cuts so I'm looking into homeschooling. However, I found a totally awesome preschool for the kids..the only thing I wish it has is Mandarin classes..but I can supplement that in other ways so am not too worried. This preschool is a co-op preschool which means the parents have to get involved in managing the school. We have to volunteer hours in taking care of the kids, cleaning the school, prepare treats etc. But in return we get an awesome space for the kids to play in - this school has bunnies, chickens, rats and fish, tons of toys/games, huge backyard, a carpentry area, gardening, arts/crafts, field trips, camping, and the list just goes on and on. The parents also are taught parenting/education skills coz we are in charge of taking care of the kids.
When I told Kevin about this school, he said he wished he had a school like that when he was a kid. Same here. :)
Still, after preschool is what we worried about. If we can't get into the Mandarin immersion program school, then I am seriously thinking of homeschooling. Am also thinking on doing that if we move overseas. It's much more flexible if we have to travel as a family and to be frank, I just love being around my kids.
Cheers,
