Since California is part of that ring of fire, I and some of my friends are now scrambling to prepare ourselves for the BIG ONE. The biggest one I felt was 4 and I nearly pee'd in my pants on that one. So, we have to prepare stuff for our cars and in the house (actually outside the house). The biggest thing I worry about is water and we bought this BPA free water barrel that can store water for 5 years. It's HUGE - 55 gallons worth but in reality, that will probably last us for a few weeks. We also hope that nothing will fall onto it and smash it.
Another thing we have to look at are the security of stuff not falling onto us like our TVs, bookcase, etc. Kevin was busy working the last few weekends and I was totally upset coz I wanted our stuff to be done first but what can we do. I just made sure that everytime I put the baby down, he is not in direct contact of anything big that can fall down.
Even as we prepare for this particular natural awesome power, nature has attacked me and it seems Kurt with the most finest and silent agent - pollen. My car is covered with yellow dust, I can't breathe, my throat is on fire and my eyes swell up. Kurt was starting to sneeze and couldn't sleep yesterday. It took two days of taking allergy medicine before it took effect and I'm also taking showers at night to wash the pollen off. Sheesh!
