Dear Friends

I want to bring you up to speed on the status of the Pike billboard issue.  As you know by now, the Zoning Hearing has been continued again (this time until June 20).

At this time, the Township Commissioners and MC Outdoor are still in negotiations.  While these negotiations are conducted in “Executive Session” (i.e. they are  confidential ), it is my understanding that the Township Commissioners are hoping to have the billboards located in a different part of the Township, possibly along Rte 309.  In any case, Doug Heller, Commissioner for Ward 1, has told me that there will be a public meeting to discuss options and provide feedback before a final decision is made by the Commissioners.

FHBP and Peter Amuso, our attorney, are watching carefully and will continue to monitor this situation.  If and when a Zoning Hearing is actually held, we will be ready to present testimony documenting the negative effects of billboards along the Pike.  We will also want to have a large contingent of residents present, so please watch your email for future updates and be ready to come to the Zoning Hearing on June 20.
