Friends:

2 quick updates:

1) MC Outdoor has continued the Zoning Hearing until September 19.  More information to follow as it becomes available.  For those who are not familiar with the issue, MC Outdoor wants to install elevated billboards (~15ft x 40 ft) on Bethlehem Pike at Haws Lane and at Gordon Rd.  The Board of Commissioners are opposed to this and are negotiating with MC Outdoor to find an alternative location.  MC Outdoor has tried to install billboards in similar locations in other local townships and has succeeded in some instances but not others.  A good website for information is http://www.nobillboards.com  In particular, the Summary/History tab has a good description of the legal issues.  (Note that the "Springfield Twp" discussed on this website is in Delaware County, unless otherwise specified)

2) FHBP is hosting a Pike cleanup this Saturday (tomorrow).  We will meet at the Black Horse Inn at 8:45 and pick up litter between Mill Rd in Flourtown and Paper Mill Rd in Erdenheim,/Wyndmoor.  We will finish by 11.  Trashbags, gloves and safety vests will be provided by FHBP and the Township will collect the trash for disposal (thanks to Mike T and the Public Works folks).

That's all for now.  Hope to see a bunch of folks tomorrow
