Join the UMSL-MIMH Addiction Science Team for a unique, simulation-based training about
improving care for people in substance use treatment settings!
Meeting
People Where They're At: OUD Treatment Access Simulation is an interactive simulation that allows trainees to experience the challenges of navigating
substance use treatment. This simulation is based on real-life experiences and difficulties of individuals navigating and delivering care in systems that are not always set up to meet people where they’re at.
We are running several pilot sessions of this training, focused on supporting practitioners
in improving access and experience for participants whose life circumstances make it more difficult to access and engage with care. Through two rounds of treatment intake simulation, we’ll generate ideas for how practitioners can improve their current practice.
Trainees will participate in the simulation as both a patient and a practitioner.
Learn
more about the training and register here. Note that this training is highly interactive and offered in person only. Trainings will be offered
on UMSL’s campus in St. Louis on May 21st from 8am-noon and June 17th from 1-5pm.
Thank you,
Grace Iverson
