I'm still okay for Tuesday.  I may be a few minutes late if the traffic is bad.  Chevella

hello everyone!

I hope you all have been doing well and had a chance to download and
configure most, if not all of the tools.

I am curious to know if any of you have been testing them out?

Also, last time we met, we set a tentative date for this week.

Is this week still a possibility to meet?

Please post your comments here.

have a nice day!

Hi Calvin,

I have downloaded the gant project software. What are the others to
download? Also, I see that gantt allows imports from Microsoft
project.

Hello Everyone,
I am trying to configure Hibernate using MyEclipse plugin. I downloaded trial version since it is not open source tools. Since Hibernate is written in Java and MyEclipse provides tool for working with Each of configuration  file type and keeping them in sync as you make database and Hibernate-mapped java changes class. The problem is I am trying to configure configuartion file which is hibernate.cfg.xml for database connection, string and password, database dialect and mapping file location but I couldn't. So please, if anybody know how to set up this configuration file, let me know..

Hi Calvin and everyone,

I just saw my schedules and tomorrow will be very difficult for me attend the meeting. Please, let me know what you talk about if I can't go, ok?

I also would like to suggest something more interactive like msn messenger, among project's components.

Appreciate,

Renato.

Hi Bineeta,

I should help you find out a plug-in for Hibernate. I know MyEclipse is one of the best plug-in for Eclipse (if is not the better), but we have to pay US$ 29.95 for annual membership. If Calvin considers it's affordable for the project, have no problems to me.

Since we are trying use open source tools, I would like to suggest another plug-in for Hibernate that is also very good:

I'll be more than happy to help you with your technical issues, but first we need to know what plug-in we will use. Calvin, it's your choice.

If someone is also trying install different plug-in for another features, please, let us know.

Best regards,

MSN messenger sounds very good to me and is convenient for me as well.  If we meet during normal work hours, is there possibly a more convenient place we can all meet?  I don't know where everyone is coming from, but the university is a hour away from where I work, and I'll be missing practically a half a day's work.

Renato and Anita have both brought up a very good point, one that I
really want to cater to!

I know parking is defnitely an issue when meeting at NCCU, and I also
like the idea of getting out of the office, especially when it is so
crowded. We are moving next week to another building which will have
a computer lab and an office that I do not share :D....so this is
still an option for some of our meetings, which would be ideal for
when we actually do some of the things requiring the student
information.

Please post suggestions for meeting places. I would be more than
happy to travel to the Raleigh/Cary Area......or some more central
location, possibly Chapel Hill.

There are a lot of Wireless access points in Carborro(sp?).....:D

So, with that in mind...I'd love to hear your thoughts :D

Also, the MSN messenger or some form of online communication is great also!

The online course tool called blackboard also has a virtual classroom
that I wouldnt mind check out to see how effective it might work in
this situation, so if this sounds like something you want to try,
please let me know

have a nice evening!
Calvin

PS--I hope the configuring is going okay -- I know Anita said she has
some trouble downloading the Java Enterprise Environment?

As for using the pay tool....I will defnitely look into a budget for
items like that. Our office just recieved approval of some of our
moneys, so spending can now take place.

Not to totally crowd this post with non-technical information, but I
also just sucessfully wrote a grant to talk about how the United
Nations and the United States can work together under the umbrella of
war and terror, both in the gulf and also in other countries....if you
have ideas or interest, please let me know. I wouldnt mind doing a
little piece on technology infrastructure and how online communication
can mitigate certain concerns in education and voting.

Thanks!

Hi Calvin, Anita and Everyone,

Did you have the meeting yesterday?

Anita, did you have the site you get the download?

Calvin, I'm interested in more information about your grant you wrote.

Bineeta, you got do something? Cristine, my e-mails have been clarified your doubts?

Pratibha, do you have news?

I know that almost all the members in this project are volunteer, but I think nobody enter in a project to fail. So,

I think is good let you know we are late with deadlines and it's not fault of anyone. I just send an e-mail to Calvin with

some suggestions and I'm sure he will find out some solutions. I also would like to heard about suggestions from you.

I know that each person have different responsibilities and issues out side of the project, but if we continue with the productivity we have now, we can't get reach our goals.

MSN for now should be a great tool to keep all the member with much more interaction. I'll put mine here, please send yours:

renato...@hotmail.com

Appreciate you time.

Thank you very much,

Renato Viana.

Hi Renato and all,
I finally got the database connection using MyEclipse plugin and also I did configured all configuration file. I also saw the site which you sent me but I haven't read whole things.
I know MyEclipse is not an open source but I haven't got any response from Calvin.  Now that I have got MyEclipse configured, I will go ahead and start exploring hibernate synchronizer as suggested by you.

Now for instant messaging, I will recommend Googal talk since everybody has a gmail account. You can go get google talk at http://www.google.com/talk/.

I also want to recommend a place for meeting that is Morrisville outlet mall at Airport Blvd. They have a food court with plenty of space, parking no problem , a coffee shop and its not crowded after lunch hours. So we can easily have an afternoon meeting there and enjoy a cup of coffee.

Hi Bineeta,

You are always doing great job. Thank you for your answer. I think we can buy the MyEclipse, like Calvin said. Did you get do something like
the map with relation many-to-many?

I'm have been done the download of Google Talk. I need leave now, we I came back we can talk more.

I liked very much your suggestion about the meeting. We could use that place for a meeting once a month and everyday by Google Talk,
for exemplo.

Thank you again,

Renato.

Hi Renato and all,
I haven't read the ER Diagram in MyEclipse but I am working on that as well. I know you can use ERD in the MyEclipse and establish the relationship between.

Hi all,
I am confused about meeting today. Calvin do you know about meeting ? Do we have a meeting today if yes than where is the place that we supposed to go?
Actually  I suggested a place for meeting is Morrisville outlet  in Airport Blvd where we have enough space for meeting  and parking is also not a problem in the afternoon.
