Previously we were working with php trying to integrate with mysql, but
with no clear tasks involved. Also, there was no specialists on php to
offer guidance with the development of those pages. Considering the
backgrounds of all of you, including being exposed to java and oracle
database, I feel we can move forward much faster and with more
accomplishments if we unify our talents and utilize J2EE.

Renato has provided a lot of insight and structure thus far into the
project.

One of the things we have been discussing is to utilize a tool for
assigning tasks to assist in analysis and development. The tool is an
open source brother of Microsoft Project; the name is Grannt Project
(http://ganttproject.sourceforge.net/) and hopefully in the future,
Eclipse for writing code in java, and Tomcat as a servlet container,
and struts as a framework.

The first task then is to assign specific areas for each of us, pending
a discussion of preference of interest. so when we meet next, I will
be talking to each of you in regard to your interest in certain areas
of the project.

The methodology we are thinking to adopt to get the requirements is
'use case' and 'UML'. If you are interested, or if you are not sure
the meaning of both, please check it out. If you have any suggestions
regarding anything in the project, please post here, so that we can
have a unified place for documenting our progress and suggestions.

Struts is very important to our development for the productivity. We
think that we would need individuals that are willing to go the extra
mile to understand the application of this framework. Renato has
expertise with framework, but not with Struts.
