Hello Fellow

The theme of Saturday’s
meeting was “Self-Discipline”. Toastmaster
Linh Nguyen opened the meeting by telling the importance of having this type of
discipline in life. We listened to two
prepared speeches, one by Linda Rudd and JohnRich Levine. Linda recapped on the
Zoom Christmas party to fulfill her pathway elective, “Managing Projects Successfully”. She spoke about what could have been done
differently to allow for more in gift giving. JohnRich gave a humorous speech
titled “Towel Around My Waist”. He spoke
about his real-life embarrassing situation and how he used it as an advantage
to motivate others. The table topics
session was led by Helen Bryant. She
posed thought-provoking questions about super-spreader events; giving your last;
and bucket list. The evaluators for the day where Debika Bhattacharya and Nishu
Kurup. In addition to the word of the
day “Conjecture”, Debika used the word synthesizing while
evaluating her speaker. She used this
term to define the mental operation that takes place when one is self-evaluating. As always, it was a pleasure to have guest Cassie Brandley in attendance.
The meeting ended with a
famous quote by Abraham Lincoln …” Discipline is choosing between what you
want now, and what you want most”.
The next meeting will be February 6, 2021 @ 1:30p. See you then!
