Good afternoon!
My name is Kristina Sanderson and I work with Grace Holden with the Real Champions League Speakers Bureau.
In the upcoming week, our team is hosting a 5 Minute Power Talk Competition on the Clubhouse platform. I wanted to be sure and share the information with yourself and the Rising Stars Toastmasters (formerly Financially Speaking), in hopes that you would share the word with your members.
Our team is dedicated to ensuring speakers have the resources they need to give the most impact both on, and off stages around the globe.
Our specific goal for this event is to give speakers a platform to share their message with the world, especially after the decline in the events industry over the past year due to the pandemic.
Below, I’ve attached some general information on the event in addition to our webpage (linked here) so that both yourself and your team are able to have a full view of the event, and the process.
Specs on the event:
This event is geared towards speakers, entrepreneurs, coaches, corporate legends, and everything in between. Speakers are more common than just people who are on stage giving a keynote, they are educators, sales people, advisors. Our goal with this event is to showcase the fact that every time you show up, whether the stage is a boardroom, a podium, or even a classroom - you are showing up and delivering (because hey, speakers speak!).
This 5 day event will run from July 19th - 23rd 2021 on the Clubhouse app. Judges will judge all contestants in areas regarding structure, flow, and timing, and the contestants will the highest scores move up to the semi finalist round.
Contestants will pitch from 9 AM - 9 PM CST, with the opportunity to win a grand prize of $5,000* and a keynote slot at one of our Voices of Victory Summit events.
*minimum 250 contestants for the payout. We will continue to run the competition until we have heard 250 Powertalks.
Process:
Apply to be a contestant by clicking here (or visit the website and click “Register to be a contestant”
Consider if you would like to work with a coach and/or attend the Champion Speaker lab (completely optional, but these both require a fee). This will give contestants the opportunity to prepare before the event
Champion Speaker Lab: 8-hour bootcamp (you don’t have to stay the full time!) to prepare for the event, covering topics like - “How to Create a Hook” and “Repurposing your content” with established speakers and coaches. (July 16th, starting at 9 AM CST)
Meet with a Story Coach: Work 1-on-1 with a coach for 30 minutes to give your talk, be scored just as you would the day of the event, and receive feedback on how to improve.
Fill out the form, and join the Clubhouse platform if you aren’t already signed up. (Here’s an invite link!) Don’t know what Clubhouse is? Click here to watch a quick Youtube overview.
Mark your calendar for the day that you register to compete! Our team will send out information on the exact room you’ll need to be in for the week of the event. Please keep in mind that depending on what time slot you choose, you should arrive at the top of the hour for that slot (Example, if you select 10:30 AM on July 20th, for the day you compete, you should arrive in the room at 10:00 AM)
Attend Clubhouse rooms leading up to the event to meet some of the judges, other contestants, practice your talk, and receive feedback. (optional)
On the day of the competition, make sure you are in a quiet environment, have your notes ready, and compete! If you receive the top score within your hour time slot (6 people compete each hour), you will be invited to the semi-finalist round on Friday, July 23rd 2021
If you make it to the semi-finalist round, the top (3) contestants will be invited to share their keynote at the Voices of Victory Summit
The grand prize winner will be announced at the summit, and they will receive the grand prize of $5,000!
That’s it! I hope this email was thorough enough to share some additional information on the event, and I hope that you are able to share the word!
Our team has reserved (20) slots for contestants registering for the event under your toastmasters club - if you need more, please don’t hesitate to let us know. Additionally, if anyone on your executive team would like to register as a judge, they can apply here (please be sure to keep scoring information private, as we don’t share this with the contestants.)
Additionally, if there is any support that we can give to your chapter in return, please don't hesitate to let us know at any point. We are open to supporting your chapter in any way possible.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out via email at spe...@realchampionsleague.com, I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
Thank you in advance.
Warm regards,
Kristina Sanderson
