I thought I had this fixed yesterday but today the Chain started skipping real bad even using higher heat would not help.
I took it apart and you can see the problem the rubber tensioner  is slipping off to the side.

I had anticipated this would happen, thus during assembly I jammed the rubber tensioner upwards, like so in the hopes that the very tension keeping the chain from skipping keeps the tensioner from slipping down. Not that I've had my machine working yet even, haha

I had mine positioned about the same problem is it is so crushed that when the chain skips a tooth. it slips to one side. well it did once.

I am about to test a new fix let you know if it works soon.

I changed the rubber part to a 1/4-20 t-bolt this is adjustable for tension but does not flex which prevents the chain from skipping. I ran the extruder at 180C and ran about 1/2 pound of pla through it with no problem
I put the temp up because I am concerned about the extruder motor it gets real hot and I'm not sure it is up to the task. my hope is that I can run 2-3 lbs at a time (that is how much filament I can put on the printable spool)

I notice that you have a black wrapping around the hot end. what is it?... Is this something that you added or was it supposed to be in the kit.  I ask because after reviewing the videos from Kstart . I saw it on some of the demonstration videos.

When installing the extruder assembly  was it parallel to the case? I ask this because mine is not. When mounting the motor we have to use 90 deg brackets. Id think this would cause some issues with the skipping.

about the Black Wrapping I added this you can get it in the plumbing section of home depot it is used when swett fitting near a wall or stud you place this cloth/foam between the fitting you are heating with a touch and the piece of wood if the tourch flame hits this black foam the heat will not go through it easily I have got the foam glowing Red and the wood is not even burnt or brown. and the heat on the back side that leaks through is minimal. the stuff is Really cool. so I cut a peice to size to fit around the hot section of the extruder and loosely clamped it in place with the yellow ties. I tie it loosely because if you squeeze it teight it will be less effective. I ran the extruder heater at 180C for over and hour and could touch the black Foam anyway and it barely feels warm no where near the temp needed to melt the yellow tie wraps.

Noticed that the chain wasn't lining up and twisted in your original photo and I also noticed that the barrel isn't at 90 degrees like james said. So I took my motor mounts and bent them to match the angle of the barrel. Don't try bending it while it's mounted or you will just warp the case.
