Speculative/Folk Etymology for Aluminum

Aluminum - "lu" in French could mean heavy and "minum" could mean
minimum.

Well apparently this is sort of not true. It actually comes from the
word alumina which is an oxide of Aluminum Al2O3 which Rubies,
Sapphires and Emaralds are made from (along with impurities). The
Latin possibly refers to the light of the stone...
