Civil War Living History Day
Saturday, July 19th
9:00 am – 5:00 pm (Rain or shine)
Spend the day with Battery B First Rhode Island Light Artillery, a
Civil War living history organization that portrays an actual Rhode
Island Artillery Unit from the Civil War, 1861-1865. An authentic
Civil War camp will be set up on the grounds of the Exeter Public
Library. Uniformed soldiers and civilians will portray what everyday
life was like in the Union Army. Fans of American Girls dolls Kirsten
and Addy can visit the time period these two American Girls lived in.
The library will be open during this event. This free event is
sponsored by the Friends of the Exeter Public Library. To see a
schedule of events, please visit the library’s website:
www.exeterpubliclibrary.org.

Library Annual Fundraiser
September marks our Fourth Anniversary and we are getting geared up
for our Annual Fundraisers. Last year’s raffle was so successful that
we are doing it again this year. If you have a business or service
that would like to contribute, we are currently collecting prizes.
Last year’s prizes include small items and gift certificates in large
and small denominations. We will also accept new items from generous
patrons who would like to help out.
We are having our Anniversary Fundraiser Dinner at the Quonset O Club
in North Kingstown on Saturday, September 13th at 6:00pm. Tickets
include a delicious dinner and live entertainment by the band Jury.
Tickets are now available at the library $40 per person, $75 per
couple. We had a lot of fun last year, and expect this year to be
even better! Call your babysitter now!
