Summer Reading Program Wrap-Up
This is last of the 6-weeks of programming for children and teens that
Miss Diane has created. We have had a great summer with lots of kids
reading and attending programs.

Live Band on the Lawn!
Everyone is welcome!
Wednesday, August 13th 7:00 pm
Join local cover band Jury for music that can be appreciated by
parents and kids alike. Jury has donated their time to entertain us
every summer since we opened. Bring your own picnic basket, blankets,
lawn chairs and bug spray and settle in for an evening of fun.

Congrats!
Congratulations to Kelsea Browne and Chris Harrop for being the
winners of our Quilt Raffle. Special thank you to Solveig
Wolstenholme for her generous donation of the two quilts. Funds raised
by the raffle will purchase new audiobooks for our collection.

It’s our Fourth Anniversary!
Each September the Library celebrates its anniversary with a couple of
fundraisers. Last year we raised money to add landscaping around the
building (I could explain the story of why the landscaping hasn’t
appeared yet, but it involves grant money and the State Department of
Transportation and who has time for that!) This year, we plan to
create an area in the library where teens can study (hey, it might
happen!) meet up with friends, relax and enjoy the Young Adult books
and resources we provide. Funds raised this September will help
purchase new furniture and fill in some gaps that Diane Silva, your
Youth Services Librarian, sees in the YA collection. Don’t worry, we
aren’t transforming the whole place into a Teen Center, we are just
making sure that all members of our community, no matter their age or
hormone level, have a reason to come to the library. Please support us
in this project.

Annual Raffle Begins Tuesday, August 12th!
This year we have over 50 prizes to win! Tickets are $10 for 25
chances or $5 for 10 chances. Prizes are mostly donated from local
businesses have a value of at least $10.00. Some highlights include
$25 gift cards for Hess Gas, a one-year membership to AAA, and free
admission to Mystic Aquarium. Winners will be selected at the
Library’s Fourth Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, September 13th.
You don’t need to be present to win, but we’d love you to join us (and
we’d have less prizes to haul back to the library for you to pick
us!) More info about the raffle can be found on our website:

Exeter Public Library Fourth Anniversary Celebration Fundraiser
Tickets are now on sale for the library’s Anniversary Celebration at
the Quonset ‘O’ Club in N.Kingstown on Saturday, September 13th at
6:00 pm. Tickets are $40 each or 2 for $75 and include a delicious
buffet dinner and live music by the local band Jury. We had a blast
last year, and this year should be even more fun. Tickets can be
purchased at the Library or from one of our Board Members.
