New York Bus Trip
Due to low numbers, the bus trip to New York City has been cancelled.
Maybe we’ll try again in the fall.

This upcoming weekend, the Friends of the Exeter Public Library are
having two events

Saturday, May 3rd
9:00 am -2:00 pm
Plant and Baked Goods Sale
Purchase annuals and perennials donated by local garden shops and
local gardeners!

Sunday, May 4th
2:00 pm
“Stone Walls of South County” a presentation by Marc Levitt.
In our era of chain link fences and concrete barriers, stone walls
strike us as charming and quaint features of South County's rural
landscapes. In spite of their apparent simplicity, they are monuments
to a dying tradition of craftsmanship. Their builders, many of them
Native American or African American, worked like sculptors, assessing
the attributes of each stone and using them to create unique
structures. This presentation uses slides of stone walls and their
makers, along with material from recent interviews, to tell the story
of a craft that has left its mark upon the land.

Volunteers needed!
We are having a car wash from 10:00-2:00 on Saturday, May 17th.
Volunteers both big and small will be needed to help out that day.
All proceeds from the event will help purchase supplies for the Summer
Reading Program. Call 294-4109 or e-mail
yo...@exeterpubliclibrary.org to let us know when you can help. Stay
for a little while or stay all day, any time you can donate would be
much appreciated. (Great opportunity for students who need community
service hours!)

Saturday, May 31st
8:00 am
Anyone who has read Suite Francaise by Irene Nemirovsky is welcome to
