Hi
Cells in an excel sheet are by default Locked and are not hidden. This
means that whenever you protect a worksheet using Tools >> Protection
>> Protect Sheet... all the cells will be locked for editing and the
formulas will still be visible. In case you want to protect and hide
formula for specific range (say Cell A3 only) do the following:
1. Select all cells in a worksheet and unlock them by going to
Format>> Cells>> Protection and uncheck the "Locked" check box.
2. Now select cell A3 and then go to Format>> Cells>> Protection and
Check both the Check boxes i.e. "Locked" & "Hidden".
3. Now password protect the sheet by going to Tools >> Protection >>
Protect Sheet.
4. Once you have done that Cell A3 is protected and its formula
hidden.
5. To edit this cell the sheet will have to be first unprotected.
6. So all the users other than the author will not be able to modify
the cell contents unless they have the password to unprotect the
sheet.
Thx

We have another option to expose formulae in the worksheet use ctrl+~ and instead of numbers the formulae will appear on the sheet
