Dear all

I have a bank statement & bank book. Example is in attached xls file.

Bank statement is showing the cheq no / DD no or UTR no in the column name description alongwith some other unnecessary details. It is in such a way so that I can not seperate dd no or rtgs no from the column. Even by using text to column. Because there is no specific trend of entires.

On the other hand, I have a bank book downloaded from sap (attached in same file). It is containing one of the column name CHEQ DD no. which is showing specific DD / RTGS no as mentioned in the column description  (discussed earlier).  Is there some way by which I can put a vlookup between this two sheet.

Normally vlookup finds exact match. Can the combination of match or/ and find or / and vlookup solve this ? Pls help to find out.

regards & thanks in anticipation

Hi,
We   will find it if you tell me the scenario..upto who many charecter/digits atleast to be matched in the given string...with the actual dd no / chq no.. we can set this for atleast 3 or 4 matching side by side..so that it will validate..
thanks,

Hi Syed

total digit / alpabets are varying from 5 to 16. But I think, if atleast 5 digit is matched with that column Description. It will provide me a perfect match.

Regards & Thanks
