Dear Ram,
Here I'm attaching the file with two functions have been created.
Look cells D32 to J33.
function 1:
=daysal(col1,row1,row2,col2)
where
col1= the number of column for which date you need the totals ie,
a=1,b=2,c=3 and so on row1=the number of starting row from where you
want to sum the amounts here it's row number 8 row2=the number of row
up to where you want to sum the amounts here it's row number 29
col2= the number of column were you have given the daily rates that is
column number 13 for column "M"
function 2:
=dayot(col1,row1,row2,col2,otrate)
where
col1= the number of column for which date you need the totals ie,
a=1,b=2,c=3 and so on row1=the number of starting row from where you
want to sum the amounts here it's row number 8 row2=the number of row
up to where you want to sum the amounts here it's row number 29
col2= the number of column were you have given the daily rates that is
column number 13 for column "M"
otrate=rate of OT,or the cell address its entered. here its E1
But there is demerit to this functions.whenever you make changes in
the data area (if you put X,X/2 or remove or enter OT hours) the
function will not re-calculate its results. For this you have to
re-type the function again in the same cell.(select the cell, press F@
and press enter key).I hope some one in this group will help to
overcome this disadvantage with these functions
